Law No. 1309 Law that Helps Regulate the Emergency due to COVID-19 (Ley que Coadyuva a Regular la Emergencia por el COVID-19)

This law sets out various measures to address COVID-19 including that the Executive Branch, through the Ministry of Health and in coordination with autonomous territorial entities, must provide biosafety equipment to health personnel and ensure that health facilities have certain needed equipment. The law “prohibits . . . . the negation of human dignity, freedom of expression, food, privacy, and other fundamental rights to individuals with COVID-19” and additionally contains a provision stating that the Armed Forces of the State and the Bolivian Police must protect and act in a way that respects the human rights of all persons within the framework of the Constitution and international treaties and conventions.
