POPCOM Launches COVID-19 Helpline

The Commission on Population and Development (POPCOM) sought to address the interruption of “access and delivery of family planning (FP) information and services” due to limited mobility as a result of COVID-19 related “[m]andatory staying at home” for many communities. To do so, POPCOM launched the “COVID-19 Helpline . . .  that ensures continuous access and provision of information and services on Responsible Parenthood and Family Planning (RPFP); Adolescent Health and Development (AHD); and other reproductive health concerns such as, but not limited to, gender-based violence, maternal health, men’s involvement, and other sexual health concerns.” The hotline provides information on reproductive health matters and “assist[s] or refer[s] clients to appropriate service delivery points or facilities or directly to service providers.”
