The BC [British Columbia] Temporary Rental Supplement Program “gave tenants and landlords temporary support towards rent payments from April to August of 2020 for low- and moderate-income renters who lost income as a result of COVID-19. Payments were made directly to the landlords of eligible households.”

The BC Housing website notes that “[r]enters who are still experiencing a loss of income may . . . be eligible” for other programs. In addition, while “[t]he ban on issuing evictions for non-payment of rent ended on August 18, 2020 . . . renters in arrears for rent due between March 18 and August 17 will have until at least July 2021 to pay any rent owed.”
